Alertus - Triton Cloud Integration

This guide walks through how to integrate Triton Cloud with Alertus, so Triton sensor events can automatically trigger preset alerts in your Alertus mass notification system. Once configured, events like vaping, aggression, or gunshot detection can push alerts to Alertus-connected devices across your facility. For a visual step-by-step walkthrough with screenshots, follow the Scribe guide linked below.

What does this integration do?

When a Triton sensor detects an event, Triton Cloud sends a trigger to your Alertus Console, which activates a preset alert. This can push notifications to Alertus beacons, desktop alerts, digital signage, and any other Alertus-connected endpoints — enabling facility-wide mass notification directly from a Triton sensor event.

What do I need before starting?
  • A Triton Cloud account with your sensors already added
  • An Alertus Console that is publicly accessible (public IP or hostname)
  • Login credentials for your Alertus Console
  • At least one Preset Alert already configured in Alertus (you'll need the Preset ID)
  • The event triggers you want to send to Alertus must already be saved on the Triton Cloud integrations page

Step 1: Select Your Triggers in Triton Cloud

  1. Log in to Triton Cloud and navigate to the Integrations section.
  2. Confirm that the event triggers you want to send to Alertus (e.g., Vape, GSD, Aggression) are saved on the integrations overview page. If they aren't, add and save them before proceeding.

Step 2: Get the Preset ID from Alertus

  1. Open your Alertus Console and navigate to Preset Alerts.
  2. Locate the preset alert you want Triton events to trigger and note the Preset ID. You'll enter this in Triton Cloud in the next step.

Step 3: Configure the Alertus Integration in Triton Cloud

  1. Back in Triton Cloud, locate the Alertus integration card on the integrations page and click into it.
  2. Enter the Public IP or Hostname of your Alertus Console (do not include the protocol — just the address, e.g., alertus.yourschool.org or 203.0.113.50).
  3. Enter the Port number for your Alertus Console.
  4. Enter the Username you use to log in to the Alertus Console.
  5. Set the Priority number — this should match the priority level configured in your Alertus preset alert settings.
  6. Set the Duration — this controls how long the alert stays active in the Alertus Console.
  7. Enter the Preset ID you noted earlier from the Alertus Console for each Triton device.
  8. Click Save.

Step 4: Run a Test

  1. Click Run Test on the Alertus integration page.
  2. Select a device from the dropdown.
  3. Select a trigger type (e.g., Vape).
  4. Click Run Test.
  5. Confirm you see a success notification in Triton Cloud.

Step 5: Verify in Alertus

  1. Switch to the Alertus Console and go to the Preset Alerts tab.
  2. Open the Active Alerts panel at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Verify that the test trigger (e.g., "Vape") appears in the Active Alerts list. If it does, the integration is working correctly.
