How To Create Additional Users on Triton ULTRA
Triton ULTRA's local web interface supports multiple user accounts with different permission levels, so you can give staff access to view sensor data without giving them full control over the device's settings. This guide shows how to create additional users directly on the sensor. For a visual step-by-step walkthrough with screenshots, follow the Scribe guide linked below.

What user levels are available?
The Triton ULTRA has two permission levels:
- Admin — Full permissions. Can access all settings, configure events, actions, integrations, SMTP, firmware, and manage other users.
- User (Viewer) — Can only see the device dashboard and live data. Cannot access settings, configuration, or make any changes.
By default, each sensor comes with an admin account. You can create additional accounts at either level.
How do I create a new user?
- Log in to the sensor's local web interface by entering its IP address in your browser (you must log in as an admin to create new users).
- Click Management in the navigation menu.
- Click Add.
- Enter a username for the new account.
- Choose the level of access — Admin for full permissions, or User for dashboard-only viewing.
- Enter a password for the new account.
- Click Save.
The new user can now access the sensor by navigating to the sensor's IP address in a browser and logging in with the credentials you just created.
When should I use the "User" level?
The User (Viewer) level is useful when you want to give staff — such as school administrators, building managers, or security personnel — the ability to check the sensor's live dashboard and see real-time data (air quality, people count, sound levels, etc.) without the risk of them accidentally changing settings, thresholds, or integrations.
Does this apply per-sensor or across all sensors?
User accounts are configured per-sensor on the local interface. If you want the same user to have access to multiple sensors, you'll need to create the account on each sensor individually. To speed this up across a large deployment, you can use the Bulk Configuration feature: How to Use the Bulk Configuration Feature on Triton ULTRA
What if I need to reset a user's password?
