How to Set Up Alerts in Triton Cloud
Triton Cloud lets you configure which events you want to be alerted for and who should be notified — via email, text, app push notification, or integrations with platforms like Slack and Microsoft Teams. This guide walks through how to enable alerts, assign contacts, and copy alert rules across multiple sensors. For a visual step-by-step walkthrough with screenshots, follow the Scribe guide linked below.

You can also receive alerts on your phone using the Triton Sensors mobile app: iPhone | Android
How do alerts work in Triton Cloud?
Each sensor has a set of alert widgets on its device page — one for each event type (Vape, Aggression, Gunshot, People Count, etc.). For each alert type, you choose whether it's enabled, who should be notified, and how they should be notified. If you're unsure what a specific alert type does, click the information dot next to it for a short description.
How do I enable an alert?
- Log in to Triton Cloud and go to the Devices page.
- Click on the sensor you want to configure.
- Click on the alert widget on the left side for the event type you want to enable.
- A widget with a blue bell icon means alerts are already turned on for that event. Some alert types have a threshold you can adjust, while others are simply on/off.
How do I choose who gets notified?
- Click the gear icon on the alert widget to open the notification settings.
- Click Add Contact.
- Use the dropdown to select a user or alert group to receive notifications.
- Choose how they should be notified (email, text, app notification, etc.).
Tip: We recommend using alert groups so you can easily manage notifications by adding or removing users in one place, rather than updating each alert type or device individually.
Can I copy an alert rule to other sensors?
Yes — and this is the fastest way to configure alerts across your deployment.
- In the same alert configuration screen, use the "Copy This Rule to the Following Devices" dropdown.
- Select "(Select All)" or choose individual devices to copy the rule to.
- Click Save.
Both the threshold and notification settings will be copied to the selected devices.
Can I manage alerts from the Alerts section instead?
Yes. You can also manage alerts from the Alerts tab on the device page, which gives you a consolidated view of all alert types and their settings for that sensor. From here you can quickly adjust thresholds or notification settings without opening each individual alert widget.
- Click Alerts at the top of the device page.
- Adjust thresholds using the arrow controls.
- Click the gear icon on any alert type to manage contacts and copy rules, following the same steps as above.
Quick tips
- Alert groups save time — set them up under User Management so you can assign a single group to alert rules instead of adding contacts one by one.
- Copy rules liberally — configure one sensor fully, then copy each alert rule to all other devices.
- Check your alerting schedule — Triton Cloud alerts can be configured with time-of-day schedules. If you're not receiving alerts when expected, make sure the schedule matches your operating hours.
