How to Set Up Keyword Detection on Triton Cloud with Triton Keyword Assist
Triton Keyword Assist (TKA) lets your sensor detect distress keywords and phrases i.e. "Help Me," "Code Red," or "Emergency" and send real-time alerts when they're detected. TKA supports English, Spanish, and French keywords simultaneously. For a visual step-by-step walkthrough with screenshots, follow the linked Scribe guide here.

What do I need before setting up TKA?
TKA requires a minimum firmware version on your sensor:
- Triton ULTRA: Firmware version 25.12.02.14 (shown locally) / 2.8.2 (shown in the cloud) or later
- Triton Pro: Firmware version 4.35 or later
If your firmware is out of date, update it before proceeding. See our firmware update guide for instructions.
Important (Triton ULTRA only): TKA will not work properly if noise reduction is enabled on the device. To check this, log into the sensor's local IP address and navigate to Device Settings → Config. If noise reduction is on, turn it off before setting up TKA.
How do I set up keyword detection?
- Log in to Triton Cloud and go to the Devices page.
- Click on the sensor you want to configure.
- Click Alerts at the top of the device page.
- Find the Keyword Assist alert and turn on the alert slider to enable it.
- Click the gear icon to open the keyword configuration.
- Click Add Keyword.
- Type your keyword or phrase in the keyword field.
- Enter a display name — this is the text that will appear in the alert notification when that keyword is detected.
- Repeat to add up to 10 keywords/phrases per sensor.
What makes a good keyword?
For the highest accuracy, use phrases or longer words rather than short, single-syllable words. Good examples include "Help Me," "Stop It," "Emergency," "Code Red," and "Security." You can mix English, Spanish, and French keywords on the same sensor.
How do I set up notifications for keyword alerts?
- In the same keyword alert configuration screen, click Add Contact to assign users or alert groups who should be notified.
- Choose how each contact should receive alerts (email, text, app notification, etc.).
Can I copy keyword settings to other sensors?
Yes. Use the "Copy This Rule to the Following Devices" dropdown at the bottom of the configuration screen to select which other sensors should receive the same keyword rules and notification settings. Then click Save.
Is there a cooldown between keyword alerts?
Yes. There is a 1-minute cooldown between keyword alerts on each sensor. Only one keyword detection can trigger per minute, even if you have multiple keywords configured. This prevents alert flooding in noisy environments.
