Triton ULTRA Environmental Metrics Explained

Triton ULTRA monitors environmental conditions alongside its vape detection and safety features. This guide explains its environmental measurements and calculated indicators, including CO2, CO, TVOCs, formaldehyde, NO2, PM1.0, PM2.5, PM10, temperature, humidity, sound level, ethanol, AQI, Health Index, and Humidex.

Air quality measurements

Metric

Description

How to interpret it

Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Tracks carbon dioxide concentration.

Review trends alongside occupancy and ventilation operation.

Carbon monoxide (CO)

Tracks carbon monoxide concentration.

Provides information about a combustion-related gas.

Total volatile organic compounds (TVOCs)

Provides an aggregate indication of volatile organic compounds.

A change can help identify periods to investigate; it does not identify every individual compound or its source.

Formaldehyde (HCHO)

Monitors formaldehyde.

Useful when reviewing conditions around building materials, furnishings, or renovation work.

Nitrogen dioxide (NO2)

Monitors nitrogen dioxide.

Provides context for combustion-related air-quality changes.

PM1.0

Particulate matter in the size category up to approximately 1 micrometer.

Read each category as its own measurement. Do not add the three readings together as a total; their size categories overlap.

PM2.5

Particulate matter in the size category up to approximately 2.5 micrometers.

Read each category as its own measurement. Do not add the three readings together as a total; their size categories overlap.

PM10

Particulate matter in the size category up to approximately 10 micrometers.

Read each category as its own measurement. Do not add the three readings together as a total; their size categories overlap.

Ethanol (ETOH)

Provides an ethanol-related environmental indicator.

A reading alone does not establish alcohol consumption or identify the source.

Room conditions

Metric

Description

Temperature

Tracks changes in the room’s temperature.

Relative humidity

Tracks moisture in the air as relative humidity.

Sound level

Tracks noise levels. Sound-level readings are separate from keyword detection and audio event classification.

Calculated environmental indicators

Air Quality Index (AQI): A calculated summary using PM2.5, PM10, CO, and NO2.

Health Index: A calculated summary using PM1.0, PM2.5, PM10, temperature, humidity, and TVOCs.

Humidex: A calculated indicator combining temperature and humidity to describe perceived warmth.

These indicators summarize selected inputs. They are not additional pollutant measurements. When investigating a change, review the underlying measurements alongside the index.

Environmental measurements and event detection

Environmental measurements describe conditions at the sensor. Event detections, such as vaping, masking, and aggression, interpret sensor information to identify a particular type of activity. A change in an individual environmental reading should not automatically be treated as a confirmed event.
